This is our 2005 Toyota Matrix
XR. We purchased the car in November 2004 after transferring back to
the U.S. from Japan. Our initial intention was to get a Scion xB, but
since we has decided that we only needed one car then we would go with a
little bigger vehicle. That's when my wife had mentioned to Matrix and
after looking at it my wife and I fell in love with it. We first
looked at the XRS but my did not want a standard shift so we went with the
XR instead.The Matrix turned out to be the perfect car for our family. Since I am in the Navy and am stationed onboard a ship, my wife and kids will be the major users of it. My enjoys driving the Matrix everywhere. It is not a big car but has plenty of room to load large items in it. It has plenty of power that she does not have to worry about whether she can got out of the way on oncoming traffic or not. If you are in the market for a family car but do not want a van of large wagon i recommend the Matrix.
