1/24 Scale No. 796 Italeri Iveco Turbo-Star II
As you can see I have no preference when it comes to building models. If it has wheels and it interests me then I will most likely build it. So this brings me to this neat kit, Italeri's Iveco Turbo-star II. I bought this kit mainly to have a 1/24th scale tractor to go with the 1/24th scale box trailer I have from Revell Germany. Since the trailer is European style then what better way to pull it using a European truck. The engine is an accurate replica of the 1:1 engine for the most part. I did not detail it with wire because reference photos are few and far between. The build up of the cab is not to pleasing. Unlike most model kits the cab uses 8 separate pieces to form the body. Not easy to build, but it does give you the opportunity to detail the inside area of the cab. I painted the outside of the cab Tamiya's TS-7 Racing White. The wheels and tires in this kit suck. They are two piece plastic and look so unreal. I ordered a set of Spaulding Truck and Trading Company Alcoa steer wheels and Alcoa drive axle wheels to replace the kit wheels and tires. I did the interior in a dark gray with dark gray flocking on the floor and headliner. I plan to replace the kit seats with a set of high back bucket seats from Spaulding Truck and Trading Company. I also replaced the gas and brake pedal with a photo etched set from Spaulding Truck and Trading Company. Aftermarket Parts Used:
