1/24th Scale Aoshima 61 GT Series Accord Wagon 2.3 VTL (CF-6)

.

Well, I finally put on the final clear coat and have trimmed the windows which makes this car complete.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  The wagon has been covered in 4 coats of Tamiya TS-45 Pearl White and 4 coats of Tamiya clear.  I have replaced the OEM muffler with an Aoshima VIP Junction Produce Type IV muffler.  I built the muffler a slightly different than what the instructions stated so the muffler tips would exit a little differently.

The tips were originally suppose to angle up, but I placed the tips where they would angle out to the side vice up.  This gives the wagon a pretty neat look from the rear.  The interior of this 6th gen wagon has been flocked using dark gray Detail Master flocking.  While letting the paint on the window trim dry, I decided to install a simple audio system.  The system consists of a subwoofer box from Hoppin Hydro's, and a chrome amp also from Hoppin Hydro's.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • Aoshima VIP Junction Produce Type IV muffler kit: 030264-800

  • Detail Master dark gray flocking

  • Hoppin' Hydro's Dual Speaker Boxes: 1012

  • Hoppin' Hydro's Showtime Assortment chrome amplifier:1015

1/24 Scale Aoshima 50 The Best Car Vintage Subaru Sambar High Roof

.

This is one really simple but neat model to build.  It was probably one of the fastest I have built also and still it turned out nice.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  The van is covered in Tamiya's TS-XX Candy Lime Green.  I lowered the suspension and then installed a set of  Deuce II wheels from Aoshima's 18 VIP Accord Wagon kit.  The interior has been upgraded by replacing the kit steering wheel with a billet style wheel from The Model Car Garage.  I carpeted the inside with Hoppin Hydro's Navy Blue interior carpet.  To top off the rest I installed 3 amplifiers and a chrome bazooka tube from Hoppin Hydro's and added an ignition key from The Model Car Garage.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • Deuce II wheels from an Aoshima's 18 VIP Accord Wagon kit

  • The Model Car Garage Billet Style Custom Steering Wheel UFO: MCG-2167

  • Hoppin' Hydro's Chrome Bazooka Tube & Monster Speakers: 1017

  • Hoppin' Hydro's Navy Blue Interior Carpet: 2010

  • Hoppin' Hydro's Amp & Battery Assortment: 1032

1/24th Scale Aoshima V-2 VIP Car Toyota Aristo 3.0V

I built this model just after my return to Japan.  It is not the most detailed but I think I did a decent job building it.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  The exterior is covered with Tamiya Silver Leaf.  The interior is a basic gray color with an aftermarket steering wheel.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • two Aoshima VIP muffler Type I:

  • Hoppin Hydro's Belajjio Slim 20's:

1/24th Scale Aoshima Wagan Police Car Toyota Crown V8

.

This Toyota Crown is built in honor of my Father In-laws 1:1 Crown.  I originally started to use one of Aoshima’s VIP Crown kits but it did not have the stock Crown wheels, so the search was on.  I searched for almost a year until I came upon the Wagan Police Car kit from Aoshima.  After researching the kit, I found that it had everything I needed to replicate the 1:1 Toyota.

The build was straightforward with no modifications required.  The tooling that Aoshima uses is the utmost professional, which requires very little preparation before building one of their model kits.  The Toyota was built box stock up to the point of installing the lights and police radio equipment.  All those parts were thrown out in favor of the stock Crown look.  The interior was taken from one of my VIP Crown kits.  The floor and seats have been flocked in Detail Master brown and tan flocking.  This was the first that I have ever tried using Bare-Metal Foil on and this stuff is great.  It really makes detailing simple and easy, and improves the model 100%.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • Detail Master brown and tan flocking

1/24th Scale Aoshima 15 the Best Car 1995 Accord Wagon

.

I plan to build this kit to look like a factory stock Honda Accord Wagon.  The only thing that will not be box stock is the interior flocking.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  I have not decided as to what factory color I am going to paint this model.  The interior will be a factory color of light and dark gray.  I will be using Detail Master flocking to achieve the cloth effect.

1/24 Scale Aoshima 9 Pickup Truck 80 Hilux Custom Ver.1 '95 Model

.

I was kind of leery of buying this kit at first until I got to looking at the box. After looking the box over, I noticed there were pictures that indicated the truck rose up and down that's when I decided that this maybe an interesting kit.  I have always been a mini truck fan so here goes.  After opening the box and looking at the instructions it appeared that this is one sweet kit.  This is a curbside model which means it has no engine.

The lower portion of the truck has been painted in Mazda Innocent Blue and the top portion of the cab will be painted Honda Grace Silver.  The chassis and suspension components have been painted using the same Honda Grace Silver that is going to be used to paint the upper portion of the cab.  Now if you are into body dropped mini's then this is your kit.  This is the first kit I have seen that has a poseable air ride suspension that lets the truck lay rail.  I looked at installing some 24" DUB type wheels, but after looking at it with them on I decided to stick with the C-5 Racing Harts that came with the kit.  The interior color is gray with black accents.  I have replaced the original seats with a pair of seats from an Aoshima Mugen Accord wagon. The steering wheel is from The Model Car Garage.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • Hoppin' Hydro's Tonneau Cover with Built-in Speakers: 1019

  • The Model Car Garage Billet Style Custom Steering Wheel Hawk: MCG-2166

  • Seats from Aoshima's S-36 Mugen Accord Wagon kit

1/24th Scale Aoshima Kit Mazora Color Tuned by Nippon Paint Accord Wagon

.

This is Aoshima's Mazora Accord Wagon.  If you are wonder what Mazora is, it is a custom paint developed by a Japanese company called Nippon Paint.  In real life this paint is pretty slick looking.  Anyhow it comes in various shades / colors.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  The body has a shaved and filled factory roof rack, gas filler door, rear license plate seam, and windshield washer squirters.

The exterior has been covered in 2 coats of Tamiya TS-20 Metallic green paint and is waiting for two more coats, a polish, and its clear coat.  To complete the outside, I have just made a new custom exhaust system using styrene tubing and have it connected to an Aoshima VIP Junction Produce Type III muffler.  The interior is currently being flocked using a combination light gray and dark gray Detail Master flocking.  It also has a billet steering wheel from The Model Car Garage.  I am also in the process of building a custom audio system in the rear using speakers and amps from Hoppin Hydro's.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • Aoshima VIP Junction Produce Type III muffler: 030257-700

  • Detail Master light and Dark Gray flocking

  • The Model Car Garage Billet Steering Wheel: MCG-2166

  • Hoppin Hydro's Amp and Battery Assortment: 1032

1/24th Scale Aoshima VIP American Nissan Cedric

.

This model has been an ongoing project for almost 3 years now so I thought I would finally get around to finishing it up.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display. The exterior is covered in Tamiya TS-1 white.  I was looking over the body and found some bad spots that needed to be repaired so I working on that right now.  I also just installed an Aoshima VIP Type II muffler in place of the kit muffler.  All is left now is to modify the exhaust and redirect it to the new muffler.  Not too much has been done to the interior.  It has been painted tan with white accents, but I am in the process of changing the accent color.  I am not a fan of white in the interior.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • Aoshima VIP Type II muffler: 030240-800

1/24th Scale Aoshima 7 Exciting Sedan Series Drift Machine Cefiro A31-5MT

.

This model was my first attempt at flocking and using photo etched parts so there are several things that need to be redone.  I will be redoing those parts after I complete the custom intercooler.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  The body is painted with Mr. Hobby's Mr. Color #4 yellow.  The front bumper/fascia has been modified to fit a custom built intercooler and piping that I am in the process of building from instructions on www.automotiveforums.com in the "Automotive Art" forum.

The kit wheels have been swapped for a set of Watanabe style wheels from Fujimi's AG-60 Revolver Sports D'Sift with Cusco Trueno (AE86).  With this swap, it brought out the drift look I was going for.  Since this model was my first attempt at using flocking and photo etched parts, I will be redoing the interior again for better results.  Right now the interior is flocked with dark gray Detail Master flocking.  The dashboard has gauges from The Model Car Garage, and a Detail Master race car steering wheel.  The single racing seat will have seatbelts from Studio 27 once I get another set.

Aftermarket Parts Used:

  • Detail Master Dark Gray flocking

  • Detail Master Race Car Steering Wheel: DM2330

  • The Model Car Garage Multimedia Gauge and Bracket Kit: MCG-509

  • Modelers Racing Harness: P501-1100

  • Scale Auto Style C-West GT Wing

  • Watanabe wheels from Fujimi's AG-60 Revolver Sports D'Sift with Cusco Trueno (AE86)

1/24th Scale Aoshima S-36 S-Package Mugen Accord Wagon

(PROJECT ACCORD WAGON 1)

.

This model is going to be my first kit that'll I'll be doing a lot of body work using sheet styrene and putty to replicate a Buddy Club body kit, and lots of suspension rework.  This kit will probably be in my current projects for awhile because this is all new to me and it will take me awhile to finish it.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  My Project Accord Sport Wagon has a custom made exhaust system connected to an Apexi N1 muffler from Fujimi Grade Up Parts kit.  It will also have photo etched hood pins from Sakatsu, and racing tow hooks from Studio 27 Skyline GTR R32 Gr. A Grade Up Parts kit.  It will have photo etched Slotted Disk Brake Rotors from Fujimi on the front and rear.  I have big plans for the interior of this model.  It will have a pair of Recaro racing seats and a Momo steering wheel from a Fujimi Grade Up Parts kit, a monster tachometer from The Model Car Garage, a complete set of gauges from The Model Car Garage, a Detail Master fire extinguisher kit , and a nitrous bottle by Detail Master.  I will be also constructing a custom roll cage using styrene tubing or solid metal tubing, and it will have a complete audio system.  I am in the process of setting up the suspension to fit the 19in wheels under the car.  The offset on the wheels are deep and luckily the uprights are setup for some serious offset.

1/24th Scale Aoshima 24 VIP American Wings West Accord Wagon CE-1

.

This model will be a smooth wagon once its finished.  The body kit is nice and compliments the body well.  This is a curbside model and has no engine to display.  The Aoshima Wings West Accord Wagon has a shaved gas filler door, roof rack, and filled rear license plate frame seam.  I have filled the seams where the Wings West kit fits the body.  I still have some sanding and filling to do to get the form just right.  This is my first attempt at doing this so please bare with me.  The body is only primered now because I discovered some areas that need more body work.  The body will eventually be painted in Mr. Hobby's Mr. Color #78 Black Metal.  The interior been flocked using a combination of light and dark gray flocking from Detail Master.  I have installed a Detail Master Halo Billet Steering Wheel kit number DM 3120, in place of the plastic one that came with the kit.  The rear of the wagon has been filled with a large bazooka style enclosure from Hoppin Hydro's kit number will be provided later, and 4 amps also from Hoppin Hydro's kit number will be provided later.
